Chemicals

Unbalanced
I walk down the steps
and smell all of your
chemicals.
I want a taste.

Unraveled
I walk up the path
and think of all of my
chemicals –
mine to displace.

Untouched
I hover, tracing the flesh
that begs to be pure again –
the chemicals –
seep and surface.

Uncompromising
I smother the feelings.
It’s my turn to be
chemical.
Your toxic waste.
